Chairman L. Kec opened the meeting at 7:00 p.m. Board members present were Supervisors L. Warrington, Treasurer D. Callais, Deputy Treasurer M. Tomczak and Clerk M Manninen, all attending recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
Agenda – The agenda for the April 7th. meeting was reviewed. Supervisor L. Warrington moved to approve the agenda, seconded by Chairman L. Kec, all voting aye the motion carried.
Minutes – The minutes for the March 3rd., 2026 regular board meeting were reviewed, Supervisor L. Warrington moved to approve the minutes as read, second by Chairman L. Kec, all voting aye motion carried.
Minutes from the 2026 Annual meeting were approved on a motion by Supervisor L. Warrington, seconded by Chairman L. Kec, all voting aye, motion carried.

Supervisor L. Warrington moved to accept the claims and pay them in full, seconded by Supervisor L. Kec, all voting aye motion carried.

PPSSD – Nothing new at this time.
South Shore – Nothing new at this time.
State Point SSD – Nothing new at this time.
Roads/Trails – check roads in the spring and fix if necessary
Community Center – Look for a new person to clean periodically at the Town Hall at $20.00 per hour but that can be negotiated. Speak with C. Nevalainen regarding mowing and weed whipping a the Town Hall
New Business –
The board reviewed a proposal from Small Town Tech in International Falls to provide;
- Endpoint protection and remote management for both Clerk and Treasurer township computers
- Microsoft Intune enrollment and device management for both Clerk and Treasurer computers
- Windows 11 Pro upgrade for both Clerk and Treasurer computers
- Microsoft 365 E3 for the Clerk and Treasurer computers, includes Mobile Application Management on personal phones for both
- Exchange Online Plan 2 for the three Supervisors, Supervisors email access is web mail only
- Keeper Security password management for the Clerk and Treasurer computers
- Small Town Tech takes over management of both domains (kabtownship.org, and kabtownship.com) through GoDaddy. Kabtownship.org will be the primary domain for both email and the website.
- Website replacement at kabtownshi.org
- Clerk’s laptop: full reset, windows 11 pro upgrade, security enrollment, and cloud storage setup
- Investigation of the tech support scam incident on Clerk’s laptop and the required incident report to MNIT under Minnesota Statute 16E.36
- Cyber liability insurance to be established by the township within 90 days
- Recurring fees: approximately $1,832.00 per year
- One-time setup and licenses; approximately $4,460.00 to $4,580.00 (range reflects the incident investigation estimate)
- Downpayment received on April 8, $2,500.00
Chairman L. Kec moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Supervisor L. Warrington, all voting aye motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
