Community Sewer Project – The Joint Powers Board met here at the Town Hall last month. There will be some funding coming from the Clean Waters Act but most of it will go to the Crane Lake and Ash River Sewer Districts.
Roads – Northern Lights and Melheims roads were graded.
Community Center – Supervisor M Tomczak did not have the septic tanks pumped out here at the hall. The float in the tank does not seem to be working properly. It was suggested that someone speak with Viitas about a new float. The repair person has been contacted again regarding the propane odor in the Town Hall.
New Business – Ellen Hart from the Kabetogama EMS, contacted Supervisor J Stegmeir asking if the township would be willing to purchase a Professional Electrostatic Backpack Sprayer ($2,500.00). This sprayer would be used to disinfect the ambulance if potential Covid contamination was possible. It could be used to disinfect the Town Hall after events also. The Kabetogama EMS received a grant in the amount of $500.00 which they would use towards this sprayer. Chairman L Kec moved to pay the balance of the cost of this sprayer after the $500.00, seconded by Supervisor M Tomczak, all voting aye, motion carried.
CARES Act – Clerk M Manninen received a letter from St. Louis County regarding the CARES Act grant information. We must pass a resolution and complete the grant agreement that came with the letter. We can use these funds to purchase shields and other related items such as masks, sanitizer and such. This is a matching grant, but the County Board passed a resolution on September 22, 2020 specifying that the county will cover the match requirement.
