Vice-Chairman T. Tomczak opened the meeting at 7:00 p.m. Board members present were Supervisor, L. Warrington, Clerk M. Manninen, Treasurer D. Callais, Deputy Treasurer M. Tomczak and one guests. All attending recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
Agenda – The agenda for the October 1st meeting was reviewed, Deputy Treasurer M. Tomczak asked to add a letter to Community Center from the health department. Supervisor L. Warrington moved to approve the agenda with the addition, seconded by Vice-Chairman T. Tomczak, all voting aye the motion carried.
Minutes – The minutes for the September 3rd, 2024, regular meeting were reviewed, Supervisor L. Warrington moved to approve the minutes as read, second by Vice-Chairman T. Tomczak, all voting aye motion carried.

Supervisor L. Warrington moved to accept the claims and pay them in full, seconded by Vice-Chairman T. Tomczak, all voting aye motion carried.
Public Comment – None
Old Business –
PPSSD – the township received a response letter from Arrowhead Lodge stating that they will be closing down the restaurant to outside guests. They plan to open the new kitchen in late December of 2024 and will have a grease interceptor installed in the drains of the sink. The township will monitor this process.
South Shore SSD – Supervisor L. Warrington moved to approve Resolution 2024-3, Resolution to Combine Petition Areas and Name Additional Established Subordinate Sanitary Service Districts, Seconded by Vice-Chairman T. Tomczak, all voting aye, motion carried.
Roads – It was brought to the attention of the township board that there has been an issue involving a school bus and the canister site recycling company. When they come to change out the recycling canisters, it is done early morning in the dark and they are stopped along the side of the road. These trucks and canisters do not have any lights or reflective tape on them, which makes it almost impossible to see them and the bus has had close calls with this. The township board will contact the county and ask them to resolve this issue.
Community Center – Plunketts Pest Control sprayed the hall for hornets. Deputy Treasurer M. Tomczak read a letter from the State Health Department. They had recommendations regarding the old well, salt storage and Hydrogen Peroxide injection. The township will consider these recommendations.
Other –
New Business – The township must change the date of the November board meeting because of elections. Supervisor L. Warrington moved to change the date to November 6, 2024, seconded by Vice-Chairman T. Tomczak, all voting aye, motion carried. Clerk M Manninen will post this change.
Supervisor L. Warrington made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Vice-Chairman T. Tomczak, all voting aye motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 7:35 p.m.
