Public Comment – None
Old Business –
South Shore SSD – Two new checking accounts have been opened. One for the South Shore SSD and one for the State Point SSD. SEH is still working on the facility plan.
Roads – Nothing new
Community Center – Larry received two quotes for ranges. The first is for an electric range which we do not have the correct wiring for. The amount for this one is $15,270.00. The second range is gas with electronic igniters. This one is a 48” griddle with 4 burners which makes it a 72” range. That may not fit. The price on this one is $19,763.00. The manufacturer did say that they could possibly order it in a 60” with only two burners. They did not price this out at this time. Other solutions: Betsey has put a small fan in the window of the kitchen which has helped a bit. It was suggested that the exhaust fan be left on all the time, but the board felt that was not a good idea. No decision has been made at this time. The board would like more time to research and think about the proposed solutions. Supervisor L. Kec stated that the peroxide additive valve needs to be disconnected on the water system.
Other – PPSSD – The township requested a written response from Arrowhead Lodge to the letter that was sent to them regarding a grease trap in their kitchen. The only response the township received from Arrowhead was a picture of the grease trap that is installed in the new kitchen that is not even finished yet and not in use. They have until October 31st to remedy this problem. Supervisor L. Kec will relate to them the urgency for installing a grease trap in the kitchen that is currently being used.
Lucas from Septic Check attended this meeting to discuss winterizing the PPSSD system and answer any other questions we may have. Septic Check needs to pull the pumps and drain the lines when winterizing the system. They need to contact SEH to solve the frozen line problem at VPL. Septic Check also needs to contact Supervisor L. Warrington or another supervisor when any emergency situation arises. The township would like Septic Check to get numbers to us for any replacement costs that may need to be done in the next year so we can update our budget to the members of the system.
New Business – The board received a phone call from a property owner in the township who has concerns regarding short term rentals in the township. The person was told to contact Saint Louis County regarding this matter because they oversee Planning and Zoning. Short Term Rentals have become a concern in our area. They are not adhering to the same rules and regulations that the resorts must.
Supervisor L. Warrington made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Supervisor T. Tomczak, all voting aye motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
Respectfully submitted, Mary Manninen, Clerk
