REGULAR MEETING
JANUARY 9, 2013
Chairman Nevalainen opened the meeting at 7:04 pm. Board members present were Supervisor Kiner, Supervisor Town, Treasurer Kiner, Deputy Clerk Tomczak and 1 guest. All attending recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
Agenda – The agenda was approved with the following additions, add annexation to old business and add Relief Assn board members to new business on a motion by Chairman Nevalainen, seconded by Supervisor Town, motion carried.
Minutes –The minutes were approved on a motion by Supervisor Town, seconded by Supervisor Kiner, motion carried.
The treasurer’s report was read by Treasurer Kiner. The treasurer’s report was approved on a motion by Supervisor Town, seconded by Supervisor Kiner, motion carried.

Old Business –
Kabetogama Fire Department Contract – the fire department has decided that they will stay with the same dollar amount as last year $36,000.00 this was approved on a motion by Chairman Nevalainen, seconded by Supervisor Kiner, motion carried.
PPSSD – Julie has been working with Nancy Johnson to update the cost and numbers for this new legislative session. They are having loading rate problems. The footprint has been decreased so they need to use more pipe and the cost would go up. They are looking at different properties again for use. The DNR wants less property used at the Woodenfrog site..
Planning Commission Report – Items discussed; New Community Building project, Planning Board members who’s position are expiring, new VNP liaison (Chuck Remus), cardboard recycling, township di-annexation from SLC toKoochiching County. Chuck Remus reported on ice conditions, snowmobile trails and ice road. The Lake Association approached the township regarding insurance on the site at the dump where the burn pad is located. There was a question about annexing unorganized township 68/21 into the Kabetogama Township. More information on this meeting can be seen on the township website.
Roads & Trails – Greg agreed to plow the township roads. Supervisor Town will contact our SLC worker and ask if flags could be placed to mark the hazardous bumps on CSAH#122 and #123.
Community Center Planning – Discussed the building plans (40X80)
Other – De Annexation from St. Louis County to Koochiching County. Bob Ruppe sent information on this. This will be reviewed and looked at again at a later date.
New Business –
Lease Agreement – The Township could lease the property at the dump site where the burning pad is located, for $1.00, and the Township insurance would cover this area. An agreement would have to be written up and agreed to. Will discuss again at the next meeting.
Relief Association Board Members – Chairman Nevalainen moved to appoint Ed Town and Paul Kiner as Board members of the Kabetogama Fire Relief Assn, seconded by Supervisor Kiner, motion carried.
Liquor License – Supervisor Kiner moved to approve the liquor license for Bait N Bite, seconded by Supervisor Town, motion carried.
Other –
Supervisor Town moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Supervisor Kiner, motion carried.
