Old Business –
PPSSD – Supervisor L. Warrington approved the two estimates, one for a Chemical Transfer Pump for $899.42 and the other for a Goulds WS1012BHF Ejector pump, including labor and service visit, $2,936.25. Supervisor Warrington reported that Saint Louis County now needs the township to sign off on any additions or renovations that occur at any of the properties in the Pucks Point Subordinate Sewer District before the county approves additions or changes. The board had a discussion regarding the amount of oil/grease that is being put into the sewer system, this can be very detrimental to the system. This needs to be dealt with immediately. The county has regulations regarding this and so does the township ordinance.
Community Sewer Project – The Joint Powers Board held their meeting here at the Town Hall. The attendance was minimal and nothing new was brought to the board. Nothing new regarding the community system.
Roads – Supervisor L. Kec contacted Envirotech Services, Inc. to treat State Point road and Pucks Point road on July 27th. Clerk Manninen will send a letter to them confirming the date and amounts. Supervisor L. Kec will contact SLC regarding road grading and removal of wild parsnip that is all over our roadways.
Community Center – Nothing much new here. When the septic tank was last pumped, Tim H. said that there was some water leaking into the tank. We will invite Tim to our next township meeting to discuss what our options are on this matter.
New Business –
Dozing at the dump site was discussed. Tim Tomczak will doze up the debris for future burning.
Supervisor L. Warrington made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Supervisor T. Tomczak, all voting aye motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 7:35 p.m.
Respectfully submitted, Mary Manninen, Clerk
