Kabetogama Township
Regular Meeting
September 5, 2017

Chairman Stegmeir opened the meeting at 7:00 pm. Board members present were Supervisors Tomczak and Kec, Clerk Manninen, Treasurer Callais, and Deputy Clerk Stegmeir.  Board members recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
 
Agenda – The agenda was reviewed, motion by Supervisor Tomczak to approve the agenda as is, seconded by Supervisor Kec, all voting aye the motion carried,
 
Minutes – The minutes for the August regular meeting were reviewed. Motion by Supervisor Kec to approve the minutes, seconded by Supervisor Tomczak, all voting aye motion carried.
 
The Treasurer’s report was read by Treasurer Callais.

Checking –
Beg Bal August 1,  2017 –  $191,079.45

The Treasurer’s report was approved on a motion by Supervisor Tomczak, seconded by Supervisor Kec, all voting aye, motion carried.
 
Claims – Clerk Manninen read the claims.
 
North Star Elec. – Electric for Town Hall - $138.00
Frontier Phone Co. – Phone and Internet – $69.21
Greg House – Tree removal - $95.00
Mesabi Sign – 2nd half and final payment - $11,736.40
Menards – Supplies - $13.85
North Star Electric – PPSSD site - $123.00
St. Louis County – Summer Blading - $279.98
Marlene Tomczak – Supplies to be Reimburssed - $36.06
 
 
                             Total - $12,491.50
PPSSD Claims – SEH - $5,002.75
                             Total - $5,002.78
 
Supervisor Tomczak moved to accept the claims and pay them in full, seconded by Supervisor Kec, all voting aye motion carried. 
 
Comment Period:    None
 Old Business
           
PPSSD  -   Chairman Stegmeir brought in a Supplemental Letter Agreement with SEH.  This is a contract for SEH as our Engineer on a as need basis.  This is an open ended agreement that takes affect after the construction is completed.  Supervisor Tomczak moved to accept this agreement with SEH, seconded by Supervisor Kec, all voting aye, motion carried.  Supervisor Tomczak moved to allow Chairman Stegmeir to contact Septic Check regarding the renewal of their contract with us.  They are on a one year contract basis which is up in November of 2017.  Supervisor Kec seconded this motion, all voting aye, motion carried.  Chairman Stegmeir reviewed with the board the PPSSD funding process, expenses and EDU’s and loan payment process, he has created a spread sheet with all the figures and has explained it to the board.  Supervisor Tomczak moved to accept the reduction of EDU’s for Mary Dyrstad from 3.10 to 2.70 a reduction of 0.40, seconded by Supervisor Kec, all voting aye, motion carried.  The total EDU’s are down for 2018 by 2.4 EDU’s.
  
Roads & Trails –  Chairman Stegmeir will speak with Greg House regarding a new contract for 2017/2018 and other work that needs to be done at the PPSSD site.
Community Building – We are waiting for the Sign company to come out and program the sign for use.  A base will be constructed around the base of the sign.
New Business –  None
 
Supervisor Kec moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:15 pm. Seconded by Supervisor Tomczak, all voting aye
Motion carried.
