Old Business –
PPSSD – Greg House will mow the area at the treatment site. He doesn’t have to mow the mounds. A contract will be amended to use Greg, he will be paid once a year, $800.00. No other news at this time.
Community Sewer Project – The Joint Powers Board asked for 1.2 million, we are in line for another 300,000 for years 23, 24 for the design of the project. At the last Joint Powers Board Meeting there was mention of SLC wanting to do a land swap with the state. There is a piece of property near Duluth that the state wanted, so the county is trying to get this combined with Kabetogama for a little more leverage. The gravel pit on Gamma rd. is another prospect to look at. John asked if we had received a bill for the soil survey, Clerk Manninen was not in attendance to answer this question.
Roads – The county fixed the culvert on State Point rd.
Community Center – Bingo starts on June 20th, Joint Powers Board meeting at the Town Hall on June 21st, 10:00 am. Pancake Breakfast will be held on Sunday, June 25th, 8:00 am to noon. Chad Nevalainen will mow and weed whip the area at the Town Hall. The township will pay for fuel and equipment maintenance, $75.00ea. VNP is getting rid of some trash containers, Chad will bring one of them to the playground and will make sure to empty them.
Clerk Manninen contacted Attorney Bob Ruppe regarding information on a retirement for the Kabetogama Medical personnel. Mr. Ruppe has been in contact with PERA regarding this matter. We found out that the medical personnel can get retirement if they attend 6 medical trainings and 6 fire meetings. That is the requirement.
New Business –
Supervisor T. Tomczak moved to approve the liquor license for Kab Outdoors, and Sandy Point Lodge, seconded by Supervisor L. Warrington, all voting aye, motion carried.
Tim Tomczak will come to the Town Hall and level out the ditch and plant new grass. The township will pay fuel expenses.
Supervisor L Kec will contact the county regarding the canister site being such a mess and no person monitoring the site.
Supervisor L. Warrington made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Supervisor L. Kec, all voting aye motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
Respectfully submitted, Betsey Warrington, Deputy Clerk
