Old Business –
Roads & Trails – Melheims road needs some work. Chairman Nevalainen will speak with the County worker regarding this matter.
Community Center Planning – Nothing new at this time.
PPSSD – Randy, SEH – Julie will have the next two Grant Reimbursements for the Project at the October meeting. DNR – have had conference calls between the DNR and the MPCA regarding the property for the PPSSD. SEH is putting together an exhibit to show the MPCA specific areas that will be needed. There will be another conference call in the near future to discuss this. Letters to PPSSD members – letters with the layouts will go out by the end of this week and property owners may get them by next Tuesday. The recipients are to respond by the first part of October. The letters will include a summary to date of the project, an exhibit of their property and layout of the sewer system, use of grinder stations or step systems. Each letter will be suited to each individual property owner. Randy explained why they are now speaking of using grinder stations. District Policies – Randy says the board needs to set some short term and long term policies for the district. Rural Water can be very helpful in setting up these policies. Julie is going to try and get someone from Rural Water to attend our October meeting to go over forming some policies. It has been suggested that there be a Sewer District Committee formed from the members of the PPSSD. Information regarding this committed will also be included in the letter that goes out this week. The township board will receive copies of all the information that goes out to the members in these letters.
New Business –
Russ Waldorf has asked to use the Community Hall for his wedding reception in September. The men’s restroom is not in working order at this time. Russ has concerns that there will not be enough facilities for the reception. The Township has decided that if Russ would like to get a Port A Potty that the Township will pay half of the cost. Supervisor Town will look at the men’s restroom but he is not sure that it can be fixed before the date of the reception. Jill Kiner will make signs for both the restrooms one stating that the available restroom will be a family use restroom and the other will say out of order. A motion was made by Chairman Nevalainen to pay half the cost of the Port a Potty, seconded by Supervisor Town, motion carried.
Chairman Nevalainen moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:02 pm., seconded by Supervisor Town, motion carried.
Respectfully Submitted,
Mary Manninen, Clerk,
Kabetogama Township
